RE: Paris dining....
Ick! Brimham, I thought you really meant it was something loverly :)
No, sorry Scarlett......that was a wry, ironic loverly.
My nice loverly goes something like this.... 'This is just LOVErly!!!!' Maybe it's my southern accent? :) |
BLECH!! It's been awhile since I've had Asian food in Paris, and it may be awhile again before I dare to!
Yes, St Cirq, I think that effectively killed off any Chinoise cravings I might have in Paris.
Yes, Brimham, it was the accent, sort of like mine :) |
Well I guess it's back to Taillevent...
Thanks Brim, for reminding me why I never eat in Chineese restaurants.
I thought I'd read through the comments before going to the link. But after reading the comments, I've decided not to. I can tell I'm better off not knowing. . .
Smart move, Patrick...
Thankfully when I'm overseas I rarely eat in a restaurant other than one serving typical food of the country I'm in. I don't know why but it's disconcerting for me to eat Chinese food in France, Mexican food in the UK, etc.
Oh, but the Asian food in Paris is usually quite outstanding! One of my Parisian friends introduced me to several Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants in Paris years ago, and I got hooked. It was SO much better than in the USA!
Not after reading this, though... |
I found that if you want a break from French food, there is Chinese food that is very inexpensive comparatively, there is the Auberge Gourmets Chinese restaurant on Rue de 29 Juilliet a half block from the Rue de Rivoli, with excellent decor and relaxed dining. For 2, without dessert, 30 Euros.
indytravel - I'm just curious whether you eat Chinese, Mexican, etc. in the US? I don't see the difference!
In any event, this article is almost a year old, and I'd hope that 1) they've fixed the problem and 2) if you were served anything that rotten in a restaurant, you'd realize it without having to eat it. Why let this stop you from eating in a quality Chinese restaurant? It could happen anywhere. |
jlm_mi, I guess you didn't realize that not only is the article a year old, but the posts above were also. So when Indytravel commented (as well as the others) there's no reason to think that the "problem was fixed".
