RE: Capri to Rome. What is the best way?

Can anyone tell me the best way to get to the Rome airport from Capri? I have one idea:
Take a ferry from Capri to Naples.
Take a local train to the Naples Central Station (Not sure where to catch local train).
Take a train to the Rome Central Station.
Take a train to the Rome Airport.
Any advice on a better way would be welcomed. I am looking for an inexpensive way but would be willing to pay a $100 to take a bus or something.
Thanks.

Hi britty,

The ferry from Capri to Naples stops at the Molo Bevellero.

From there you can take a cab to Naples Centrale and the train to Rome.

The Leonardo da Vinci Express takes you from Roma TE to FCO.

train schedules are at www.trenitalia.com/en

You take a ferry from Capri to Naples. At the dock, you take a taxi to Napoli Centrale and get the train to Rome Termini. At Rome Termini, you take the Leonardo Express train to the airport. What time is your plane? Are you aware that the ferries don't start leaving Capri until 7 or 8 am? It takes about 45 minutes to get to Naples (the dock) then another 10 minutes to get to the train station. The fastest train between Naples and Rome takes a little less than two hours and the train from Termini to the airport is another 45 minutes or so. If you have an early plane to catch out of FCO you will need to leave Capri the day before.

Thanks for the info. I was a little worried about getting to the Naples train station from the dock. My plane does not leave until 3:45PM. If I leave Capri by 9AM, I should be fine.
Ciao!

Hi Britty,

Take the ES* train from Naples to Rome. The IC's don't always run on time.

Also check your schedules carefully. The shuttle train from Rome to FCO leaves at :23 and :53
