Well. I will certainly let you know when I return. AND I will also let One Sim know.

Good. If you need to be reached 100%, I'd buy a 2nd UK based SIM, if not "One Sim" does the job.

Sending this to the top to seek clarification:

pjk said, "I'm trusting you're getting a charger with the phone (also a converter); you'll need to charge it here before the trip so you can start using the phone when you arrive (if needed)."

I am bringing our old "RAZR V3 GSM" phone with us to the UK. I got AT&T to unlock it and give me an 8 digit unlocking password. Regarding charging the RAZR phone, do I need just the adapter for the plug, or do I need an actual converter to convert the current?

Thanks in advance for your help!

ky: very good! I hadn't noticed the fine print before. It says, "input 100-240 V" so it looks like I am good to go. Thank you very much!

You'll just need the plug adapter for the UK. Usually you can find single country adapters at Radio Shack. WalMart type stores tend to sell kits that contain multiple country adapters. Magellan's also has some singles cheaper than Radio Shack, but I don't know how much the shipping adds.

Europlugs DO fit into UK sockets, no extra adaptor needed. It just looks odd, but it works nicely.
