Help....we've eaten at Cumpa Cosima in Ravello and loved it and will eat there again....any ideas for three other meals.

Thank you....

The terrace restaurant of the Hotel Villa Maria with a terrific view of the sea. The food is very good as well.

If Rossellini's (In Palazzo Sasso) is in your budget, it is worth the trip. Phenomenal meal and service...

Thank you for the recommendations....unfortunatly Palazzo Sasso will not be open yet...we're traveling this week and they don't open until later in the month.

Hotel Palumbo's dining room is very special for a more formal dinner. It has wonderful vaulted frescoed ceilings. It's next to Palazzo Sasso.

Thank you europhile.....we're staying at the Hotel Palumbo..we would love to try the restaurant for dinner but is it very formal?...will my husband look out of place without a jacket? he'll have nice dress slacks and a long sleave shirt on....his goal in life is to never wear a jacket again...after many years of suits and ties.

Thank you.

He'll be fine in that. It's not so much formal in dress as in setting. The room seems formal- palatial, even- and the menu is, too. It is very good quality and very inventive. It's not the place for homestyle Italian (but you have Cumpa for that!). I also second the Villa Maria recommendation. That was one of our favorite meals, and they have an inside area, too, if the terrace isn't open.

Right outside the "entrance tunnel" to Ravello, (near by the Villa Rufolo), there's another couple of restaurants: while the Garden restaurant is still closed for renovation, the next door "Salvatore" is open, has good food and great views!
Buon Appetito

From Ravello or Amalfi take the bus or walk to the small village of Pontone just across the valley and visit the Ristorante San Giovanni WWW.ristorantesangiovanni.com A place where the locals eat(inexpensively)
