Ravello & Capri - Will we be bored?
Planning our honeymmon to Italy - first stop Amalfi coast, then off to Tuscany. definitely want to relax and take in the sun but if we do only Ravello (Palazzo sasso) for 3 nights and then Capri for nights do you think we will be too bored??

On your honeymoon? In Italy? If you are bored it's because you are boring!

You should be careful, you would offend a lot of Italians with that statement. Bored?!? There is nothing to be bored about in Italia - let alone being in the most beautiful part of Italia no less! Perhaps the pace may be "slower" if that is what you mean, but never boring. There is plenty to do and see around the Amalfi coast, Positano, Pompeii, Paestum, along with the fabulous shopping, tour a limoncello factory, eat at great restaurants. It would be a relaxing, enjoyable time with your husband and isn't that what honeymoons are supposed to be?!?

Let me clarify...I've been reading these posts and most say that Capri and Ravello are the most "secluded" towns in Amalfi. I am sure I will not be bored with my husband - just wondering if I should choose, say, Positano or Amalfi for more options? I have been to Italy before and the best part is just taking in the scenery and long dinners and lots of great food and wine. I should have explained better.

Jen, If you get bored you can always take a taxi or a bus or a boat somewhere else for a little while. I wouldn't worry. There will be great views, great food, great wine and you're on your honeymoon! Congratulations.

My husband and I went to the Amalfi coast and actually stayed in the town of Sorrento for the week which is very lively even until late at night. It's also a great place to day trip around. Amalfi is a pretty small town, it felt like there were more tourists then residents. Ravello is beautiful, don't miss it. You have to pay a few euros to get to the balcony where all those famous postcards are taken at the music festival but it's worth it. It is very small town, quiet even during the day time. If you want to stay at a little town, a lot of people seem to like Positano, probably the most postcard perfect. Capri is really pretty and there are two main towns on the island so you shouldn't be bored. Good luck

I'd suggest Positano. We stayed there 3 nights and loved it. Day trips to Amalfi and Ravello are easy by boat. Ravello is a long and windy way up from Ravello. I think it would make day trips harder. We also stayed in Capri-it's beautiful and quiet at night. Depending on your interests you might consider a few nights in Sorrento to see Pompeii, etc.

Stay at the Hotel Villa Cimbrone in Ravello. When they close the front gates to the public, you can wander the Garden of Eden and the Belvedere dell'Infinito in solitude to admire sunset and sunrise. Not as glitzy as Palazzo Sasso, but more romantic, in my opinion.
