Rapallo for week in August
My husband is turning fifty this summer and has dreamed of a vacation on the Italian Riviera. I have found a wonderful apartment in Rapallo that comes with a 14 meter sailboat,(captain included! He and his wife own the apartment). If you wish to view it go to Rentvillas.com, then to Italy- Liguria-Genoa-Rapallo with yacht. It is quite special. Anyhow, we are thinking of flying into Milan and spending a day there to see the Last Supper. My son ,now 11, has made that special request. My question(s), finally, is this. I am trying to figure out the best way to get to Rapallo. Driving was the first option, as it is only 2 hours away, but if I can find another solution, I think it may be less stressful. We really won't need a car once we are there, as the owners will take us up and down the coast via thier boat. If anyone can help with train options, I would be most appreciative. I know we can get a train to Genoa, without much hassle, but cannot find a means to Rapallo. Carrying luggage around is not one of my husbands favorite hobbies,( he can get a bit cranky!) so I am trying to make this as stress free as possible.Thank you for any help.

There is a separate train from Genoa to Rapallo that takes about 45 minutes. Go the trenitalia.com website for the schedules. Have a great time. Mike

Ral - There are DIRECT services between Milano Centrale and Rapallo at:
06.10 07.15 08.10 12.10 14.10 etc ... Minimum journey time 2hrs. 7mins Other trains require a change at Genova. You can find timetables and fares on: www.trenitalia.com Hope this helps ... Steve |
Thanks Steve. I went to the site and put in Milan to Rapallo and was told there is no service between these two cities, only to Genoa. I know I am doing something stupid so I will keep trying. Thanks for the help
