Raingear in Scotland?
We're going to be in Scotland for about three weeks beginning July 25, and I'm getting a little obsessive about what kind of rain/cold-weather gear to take. (We live in Florida and get cold easily, so maybe you'll excuse the obsession.) For part of the time we're going to be out in the country, doing a lot of walking, and for part of the time we're going to be in Edinburgh at the Fringe. Here are the choices: a long, lightweight trenchcoat with a hood; a short, very lightweight rubberized rainjacket with a hood; a 3/4-length lightweight jacket, not waterproof but warmer than the rainjacket; a short fleece jacket; a fleece vest. I could probably take two of these things but obviously don't want to take all. Can anyone give me some advice?

Hi Bess,
If you go to http://search.weather.yahoo.com/fore...KXX0052_f.html
you will find a 5 day forecasst for Edinburgh.
I wouldn't recommend the fleece.

Go with Sheila's suggestion. You won't need a heavy coat or fleece - even being thin blooded Floridians
What you will need is a roomy light weight water proof of some sort. That way if it gets cool or you go out on a boat you can wear a light sweater under it.
