Raincoat for travel

Am looking for a women's raincoat that has a hood, doesn't wrinkle, is lightweight, and is dressy enough to wear in the evening.
We're going to Vienna.
Any suggestions? Thanks. ;-)

The impossible springs to mind. Prada or Jil Sander who make use of "high-tech" fabrics might have something suitable for you.

Otherwise, just have a look around some boutiqutes and/or department stores to find something to meet your needs.

This raincoat has never failed me:

Before anyone picks me up on my spelling, my above posting should read boutiques!

I don't have it, but I've seen this coat in a number of catalogs. Looks like it might be just what you're looking for:

Bookchick - that's a great raincoat. I've been looking forever. Thanks for the tip.

I love my London Fog trench coat. It feels and looks like suede, dark charcoal..I dress it up with a scarf...

Here's another huge recommendation for L. L. Bean's H2Off raincoats/jackets.

Another vote for the LLBean coat Bookchick linked above. Mine has crossed the Atlantic in the overhead bin at least 6 times, and is my default coat at home in all but the coldest weather. I don't have the zip-out lining, but I bought it with room for layering with a sweater or fleece, and I love that versatility.
I recommend one of the darker colors, for both practical and fashion reasons -- the lighter colors look too much like ski parkas, not the coat you would wear to an evening concert. Have a wonderful trip!

Please opt for something with a little more chic and style.

I have a black microfiber raincoat with a lining--it goes everywhere and looks chic in Paris, where a khaki London Fog looks very out of place.

I've got a black microfiber one w/o a lining, and I use it in all but winter.
When I have to replace it, that LL Bean one looks like a good idea, though I wonder if the zip out lining provides enough warmth to be worth it--I might just need my heavier winter rain coat at that point. The Target model has no lining (ditto Travelsmith, Land's End, etc) and so is less money.

Check www.nordstrom.com. They have a lot of cute coats.

That LL Bean raincoat isn't what I would consider dressy. I'd look for something more structured and fitted. It doesn't necessarily have to be a raincoat. As long as it's somewhat water resistant, you should be fine. I was in Vienna this past November and didn't bring a raincoat, just wore my overcoat in the evening. It's warmer, looks much nicer, and holds up fine to a little rain. Just my 2 cents.

I just love the additional fashion advice from m_kingdom. A good basic dark coat will NEVER be out of style unlike the boutique coat suggested.

I like my Liz Clairborn microfiber black raincoat with zip out lining.
I just wore it for the first time this year on a nice rare rainy day in Los Angeles.
Being from Los Angeles, I just can't get into the beige London Fogs and those other khaki looking types and they don't look dressy.

The whole point of fashion is that it evolves every season, who wants to be wearing the same coat for years, one year at the most is much more interesting.

Carol A, Thanks for the link on the Nordstrom`s rain jacket. I have been looking for a little rain jacket, and just ordered it.
