Rain in Italy

Well I am leaving to Italy next week. Looks like it may be raining off and on. Just wondering if anyone would suggest things to do when the day is completely washed out?
Please dont say "get wet"....

Not to be facetious, but... why not get wet? : ) Well, carry an umbrella of course. But unless your plans were for a picnic or a ball game, why not just continue strolling thru towns, going into churches and museums, shopping and eating/drinking? Or, you can always go to the movies.

First of all, before you go, check the long-range forecast on the Weather Channel website (www.weather.com). It'll give you a 10-day outlook.
We hit rain rain almost the entire part of Rome stay. It didn't stop us from walking around.
What to do in the rain? The obvious answer is: Museums!

In Rome we will be staying at the Mecenate Palace Hotel.

Howard:

Weather forrecasts in Italy are decently precise only in a 2-3 days range. Beyond that you never rely know what will happen. Unlike in the Us, southern Europe and Northern Africa has a weather that changes very fast and unpredictably, we have less dramatic events, but a weather forecast saying "rain for 10 days" can very easily becontraddicted by the weather, as well as a forecast of 5 days of rain.

we had one day in Rome and the rain came down in torrents the whole time. We still managed a packed day of sightseeing although the Forum did seem to have a river running through it! The only real inconvenience was trying to stop my husband murder the hundredth gypsy who tried to sell us an umbrella!!!
