Rail Travel - fare structure

Hi
Does anyone know what age Italy counts you as a senior for rail travel?

Travelnut Sep 25th, 2006 02:30 PM

Because Trenitalia has a 'seniors' railcard, I'll say the age is -60-

Argento railcard
For senior citizens over 60 years of age. The railcard costs Euro 30.00 and is valid one year. The discount amounts to 15% on the price envisaged for the train used, both in First and Second class, and to 10% for journeys made in couchette or sleeper carriages. Tickets must be used during the period of validity of the Railcard.

Hi Jackie - Unless you are resident in Italy you will not qualify for senior discounted rail travel in Italy.

Travelnut - The Argento railcard is no longer available. It has been replaced by the Carta Viaggio - available to Italian residents only.

Hope this helps ..

Steve
