Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, Copenhagen

I will be staying in Copenhagen this summer for a pre-cruise stay and getting ready to book a hotel. I was leaning towards the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, in Copenhagen. I know that it is a little on the expensive side, but since i will only be staying one night i am not concerned. I am just looking for a hotel that is pretty centrally located with good accommodations and friendly staff. Has anyone stayed in this hotel that can give me some insight to this hotel? Thanks.

We stayed at The Marriott which was in a good location too. We liked it a lot. Easy walk from train station, east to walk to Gamla Stan and if you are wanting a canal boat tour. Nyhavn isn't far either.

You are okay and centrally located.

Also check into the Scandic Weber which is almost across the street and a block down.
It is nice , the rate is cheaper.
Good Breakfast
in either place you are about:

A block from the Libery Monument right on the street outside your hotel

A block from the Tivoli Gardens
Two blocks from the lovely TrainStation and 2 blocks from the
main City Town Hall Square.

Taxi from the Airport will be about $60-$70.00 US.

Debit NM:

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Gamla Stan the Old Town area in Stockholm Sweden !?

Opps, meant Strøget of course.

Since you are going on a Baltic Cruise, it might be better to do all your posting on the Cruise Forum.

More people there have done the Baltic Cruise and I think you will get more help there.

This Europe Forum really moves along and the thread is easily lost!

( Just trying to help )

I've stayed at that Radisson. It is a good location. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ate breakfast there and it was very good. Many cruise passengers were spending the night there. You can probably do a bit better on price but Scandinavia is expensive. The Radisson is a perfectly fine choice.

The whole point of staying at the Radisson Blu Royal (there are couple of other Radisson's in CPH) is because it was designed by Arne Jacobsen for SAS. So yes there are better priced hotels but this one is quite famous due to the design and history.
