Raclette in Paris
One of my best friends was a flight attendant with TWA since the late '60s.
Of course, NOW - she's out of a job ... ahem, nevertheless she gets all glassy eyed about a restaurant on or two steps off one of the streets that make up the Etoile for "Raclette". She thinks its on the "east" side. She insists that I find it and eat there and make a toast to her! She can't remember the name. Anyone here have a suggestion or know of such a place? |
HI
There used to be a wonderful raclette place on rue du Colissee, not far from l'Etoile. It was Boutique a Sandwichs and I went there happily many times. It has been closed for years, I don't know how recently your friend's had been to her favorite or if it's a different place entirely. |
There is a fondue/raclette restaurant on the left bank called Fondue
Berger (it may be Burger), not too far from the Jardin Luxembourg that is very good. Doesn't sound like the same place but it was there in April 2002. We've eaten there 2x and would go back again. |
I don't know of any near l'Etoile but other raclette/fondue restaurants in Paris include:
Le Serpent Quie Danse in the 11th Le Refuge des Fondus in the 18th Le Montagnard in the 6th Le Relais Savoyard in the 9th Les Deux Savoies in the 12th |
She was there in late May '02. I'll get my raclette one way or 'nother...(Thank you Swalter!) and/or she'll just have to do a ginko-bilboa (sp?) drip to try to remember!
