11- Who is the only 'real Belgian'?>

The King! In this somewhat culturally divided country - I heard that once anyway from a Belgian.

pariswat Oct 23rd, 2017 10:00 AM

Yes. The king is atrue Belgian. But mint hybus less liked in Flanders ... sigh.

I had a mitraillette at lunchtime !

PalenQ Oct 23rd, 2017 01:25 PM

What feature of Belgium can be seen from the Space Station?

margo_oz Oct 23rd, 2017 02:33 PM

#8 - What. No Brussels sprouts!?

pariswat Oct 23rd, 2017 03:10 PM

Keep forgetting the sprouts. I don't like them. A shame.

PQ : our highways at night ?

thursdaysd Oct 23rd, 2017 03:27 PM

Try eating the sprouts raw. Or sauteed.

bilboburgler Oct 23rd, 2017 10:31 PM

sprouts fried with potatoes in bacon fat, real winter food

pariswat Oct 23rd, 2017 11:09 PM

Last answer was the sub machine gun (mitraillette).
Pain français (baguette) sauce tartare frites et brochette ou fricandelle.
All very light. No problems for your cholesterol.

For sport nobody mentioned Justine Henin (was invited by her tonight she is very active with her foundation justine for kids) and Kim Clijsters.

Better than sprouts in fat imo is a salade liégeoise. Haricots verts (beans) onions speck and potatoes. Then salt pepper and ... vinegar.

Ludwig VAN!, pariswat.

menachem Nov 4th, 2017 07:29 AM

His grandfather was Lodewijk van Beethoven, from Mechelen.

Barbara Nov 4th, 2017 09:31 AM

I thought Audrey Hepburn was Dutch. She grew up in The Netherlands during WWII.

menachem Nov 4th, 2017 09:58 AM

Her mother was Dutch, she herself was born in Ixelles, now part of Brussels.
