Quietest hotel in Marais? (2-3 star)

Just looking for a place to spend one night. Quiet at night is first priority.

....anyone for Clarin..?

Hey, thanks, Travelnut: appreciate the plea. I know hotel queries are tedious for everyone, and I was hesitant to post it in the first place.

Don't be hesitant, if someone wants to waste their time posting cranky replies they will and in the meantime there will be lots of people who will post something very helpful!

We have stayed at the Hôtel Jeanne d'Arc at 3, rue de Jarente 75004 , it is not fancy, but I found it relatively quiet.

We stayed at the Hotel du Septieme Art on 20, rue St. Paul, and it was quiet. A haven for classic film buffs, the hotel has excellent staff, friendly and helpful. But no elevator and the room decor is pretty drab, very French garage sale. Inexpensive. Excellent bakery down the street for breakfast.

If you find a hotel you like, ask for a room facing the courtyard. They are *usually* quieter than street view rooms.

Margo, we're staying 10 nights at Jeanne d'arc in May and I'd love to hear some details about your stay there (good and bad.) You can reply here or email directly if you'd be so kind. Thanks.

For just one night, I'd choose the Ibis Bastille Opera, which is on the eastern end of the Marais. I've never had problems with noise there, and it's under 100 euros a night (the Jeanne d'Arc is more homey and even can be cheaper but is almost always fully booked).

Margot, I'm also staying four nights at Jeanne D'Arc in February. This is my first time in this hotel and any information you can give would be much appreciated.

Thank you all very much indeed. I'm off to research the 3 hotels suggested.
