Quiet hotel in Prague.
 

Will be going in 2 weeks to Prague and any suggestions of a clean, quiet hotel is going to be appreciated. We may go up to $100/night. Certanly, we don't mind about luxury, fancy bars, etc. but we can't stand street noise that doesn't allow you to sleep after a long day visiting this nice place.
Maybe is difficult in such a big and cosmopolitan city, but any ideas are most welcome.

The Penzion Balbin is on the top floors of an apartment building near the Muzeum Metro and Wenceslas Square. It is 5-10 minute walk to just about any place you want to go. There is a locked door to the street so safe & an elevator after the first flight of stairs. The rooms are clean, with shower & toilet in room, skylights, nice English-speaking staff and great buffet breakfast.

I was in Prague with my entire family last Christmas, and when things got too cramped at my great-grandmothers, my boyfriend and I scoped out some hotels. We ended up staying in an apartment with some family friends, but we came across a really lovely little hotel in the Old Town, probably 5 min. from Old Town Sq. It was right next to Anezsky Klaster, a beautiful old cloister. Here's the description from the website, and the web address. It looked like it was very cozy, in an old building but with modern amenities, and in a very quiet area (it's very near to the places you want to go but there are no businesses right near it so not many people walking around, hence no noise):

Hello, we just returned from Prague, where we stayed at the Pension Dientzenfhofer at Nosticova 2 in Mala Strana. Very quiet neighborhood, lovely rooms, staff are warm and friendly.

I usually rent apartments in Prague, but the few hotels I've stayed in have been on quiet streets. Hotel Anna in the Zizkov section is a good value. Since you are going in November, you will get cheap rates, so also check out the Waldstein in Mala Strana. Look on www.travel.cz or www.marys.cz for ideas, prices, etc. Oh, also Hotel Novomestsky, which is near Charles Square, but within walking distance of Wenceslas, etc. It is on a side street with almost no noise. Of course, if there is construction near the place, you will be out of luck. The only way to know is to ask the hotel. Even the Waldstein was noisy as heck when I was there, because of construction, but it is in a great area, and is usually quiet & peaceful. Have a great stay!
