quiet hotel

I'm looking for a quiet hotel in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul. Quiet location and quiet interior. Many hotels are very highly rated, but also have reviews by travelers who complain about thin walls and noise in their room from other guests or areas of the hotel. Does anyone know of a hotel they highly recommend where that wasn't an issue?

We liked the Ottoman Imperial Hotel located just across from the Aya Sofia. Quiet and comfortable room with king size bed and pretty bathroom. You might hear the prayer calls but the location of this hotel is great--easy walk to Blue Mosque, Topkapi, etc. A nice breakfast buffet is included in the room rate.

As mentioned above, if you stay in Sultanahmet you will hear the call to prayer from the Blue Mosque 5x a day.

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton near the Dolmabache Palas. We were very pleased. The Ritz has a swimming pool.

Taxis are cheap in Istanbul. No need to stay in Carpet Salesman Twilight Zone of Sultanahmet.

Four Seasons Sultanahmet is the best hotel in the Old City, if their room rates work for you.

We stayed at the Dersaadet hotel which was lovely and quite quiet, IMO (of course you will get the call to prayer, but that is part of Istanbul's charm). I don't recall any noise from adjacent rooms, etc. Great location and charming property. (We stayed there April 2013).

Tash Konack worked for us..Prayer calls are a given!! Discount for cash and airport pickup on request. Great buffet breakfast.

We also stayed at the Dersaadet & loved it. In a residental area. I recd it to my sister & she & her huband liked it. Great customer service. I loved the call to prayer & didn't recall hearing any neighbor noise. Loved the roof top terrace for breakfast & an evening drink-I would go back there in a heartbeat

If there are any more recommendations, please add to the list. Our motel needs are simple - a place to rest for 8 hours and then on the road again. That is, 3/4-* are not necessary.

We will try Deersaadet again, but there is a web site problem with confirming prices. http://www.hoteldersaadet.com/contact.htm
