Quick (silly) time-change question
 

I'm trying to make rail reservations on GoEuro (from the United States) for June,. Every time I put in a specific date and hit search, when the results come up, they have a different day (1 day later, or earlier?) I'm afraid to make the reservations because I don't know if the date will be correct. Direction?

I would try entering your search in the bahn.com website. I have found this to be the most reliable site. Is it possible that the route you are searching for does not run on the day you are entering?

What country? What date?

If in France for instance there are several rail stikes scheduled in June so maybe your dates hit one of those

Get right out of GoEuro for a start.

Use the website of the country rail service in which you are interested. If you don't know, try www.seat61.com

I have tried Seat61 several times and apparently it is too advanced for me... Or the am too advanced in years to figure it out. I'll try again. 😒 What is wrong with GoEuro? It's so simple and I can see plane, train, and bus fares and schedules all in one spot.

Ok, so I went to Seat61 and onto OBB to try and book a sleeper between Vienna and Krakow. I couldn't get it to stay on English translation and it seemed to get stuck on pages. This may be more a problem with trying to manage from a mobile device, so I'll try a computer when I get a chance.

Since GoEuro claims there is no train between Vienna and Krakow on June 5th, when there are several, it seems of little value. It is also unclear how it makes money, but I was unable to compare the price for your train since it claims it doesn't exist.

i had no trouble using OBB to book the night train (at least as far as providing passenger details) on either my iPad or my desktop. It remained in English. You do have to click on the price for a seat before progressing to booking the sleeper.

Night trains ain't for everyone - there is even in private compartments a modicum of noise from inside and outside the train - like in stations from PA announcement, wheels squealing when braking, etc. For a good look at overnight trains check www.seat61.com; BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com. Perhaps you're experienced with overnight trains in Europe but if not and a light sleeper think twice - arriving wiped out early in morning ain't no fun. Otherwise enjoy - bring any food and drink you want aboard and chill!
