Quick route from Paris to Avignon?

My family and I will be travelling to Paris in July. I'd like to travel by car from Paris to Avignon when we get there. Does any one know a quick and easy route for traveling by car. Any opinion is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Tony,
Once you escape the traffic in Paris the route to Avignon is about seven and a half hours to eight hours in duration, all by major highway. Take Route A6 south east from Paris to Lyon then Route A7 to Avignon. The distance is slightly more than 700kms, about 430 miles, a healthy day's drive.

The train would sure save alot of time! It's under 4 hours, and you can pick up a rental car (reserve in advance) right at the train station in Avignon.

Tony: If you already have a rental car in Paris, try the www.cwlease.com. It has a route planner which will give you a trip tic with times for each leg, the miles or kilometers and the exact exits to take. You decide if you want the fastest or the shortest route.

Tony,
For a quick and easy road, try www.iti.fr -they have an english version. It's quite accurate
