Quick! Help!

I need to make a quick decision about a Paris apartment. Which sounds better -- a one-bedroom in St. Germain or a 2-bedroom in Place des Victoires? Traveling with hubby and two children (3 and 8). My husband's leaning towards the St. Germain for the neighborhood; I'm thinking the two-bedroom would be better and while it's not St. Germain, it is near Rue Montegreuil, which seems like a fun area. Thoughts?

I know nothing about the neighborhoods, but if you can afford it, I'd go for the two-bedroom so the kids could have their own room.

Hi, which apt rental company are you using?
I agree with ElendilPickle , with two children of those ages, they/ you need a second bedroom.

Place des Victoires is much nicer.

Hi B,

Enter the addresses at www.mappy.com. It will show you where the nearest Metro stops are.

Also enter the addresses at www.pagesjaune.fr to take a walk through the neighborhood.

One of the apartments is through Opodohome and the other is through Vactions in Paris. Any experience with either of them out there? Both have been helpful and nice, but some distinctions exist. VIP sends you the keys to the apartment in the mail ahead of time. Opodohome has you pay directly to the owner. They also add nearly 4 percent (on top of the taxes, etc.) because you have to do the deposit through PayPal. Not a big deal though. It boils down to the apartements and the neighborhoods themselves... unless I hear something terrible about one of the agencies. Thanks!

P.S. Thanks all for the links and comments -- very helpful.
