Quick Copenhagen Question
DH has a last minute business trip to Copenhagen on Monday. He won't get into his hotel til about 9 pm or so. Any suggestions for a restaurant that serves late on Monday evening? Not too expensive or formal, something more bistro-ish. Near Nyhavn would be nice as I know he'll probably want to walk around there.
Thanks! |
Sorry, don't...but TTT

I'm not sure how late they stay open but I ate at a restaurant in Nyhavn called either "The Herford" or just "Herford". I had a prefix dinner that was about 45.00 american. It was a salad, half a lobster, a pepper steak and what they call apple pie..more like an apple tart..for desert. It was quite good. Food in Copenhagen is pretty expensive. There are quite a few restaurants along the canal in Nyhavn.

Hi,
Cafe Zeleste is just around the corner from Nyhavn itself, on Store Strandstræde 6. Kitchen is open until 10:30, and it i a very nice place. Where is he going to stay? I hope he'll enjoy his stay - Copenhagen is very beautiful with all the christmas lights now even though we are missing the snow - it is the warmest december ever! |
oh, sorry, just found out that I'm too late...

yes, he went and ended up having a simple dinner at a nondescript place near his hotel. It was nice but not memorable. Unfortunately, he didn't have time to get down to Nyhavn, perhaps another trip. But thanks for the suggestions anyway--we'll keep them in mind for future reference.

BTilke,
just seconding katrine's suggestion of Zeleste - my favourite place in Copenhagen, which, I presume would please your taste, too. The food is quite good (not too fancy, though) and they have a beautiful courtyard, shaded by a canopy if needed and even some butane heaters out there. The interior is charming, too. If you are in town at some point, give it a try! |
