Thanks for the info - I'll look into it. In the past I've left a blank check with a friend, and had my mail forwarded to her.

Thanks again for all the suggestions. I do use online payment with Capital One, but not automatic payment. I go online to Capital One when I want to make a payment and direct them to take a specific amount from my checking account. Call me old fashioned but I don't like automatic payment for credit cards. I pay the balance every month; besides, I am a bit of a control freak.

All will be well--just the last minute jitters before a long trip.

I don't use the online payments to the individual credit cards. I use my online banking and make the payments from there. I never have a credit card balance...In fact I write and mail very few checks. I have all my utilities debit my checking account, some monthly contributions and some other regular monthly items. It is so convenient to pay everything via the online banking..I really like it...
