Question re: booking AA award ticket

I've been searching on www.flyertalk.com but find their search feature somewhat difficult to navigate. I have my first leg (Denver - Frankfurt on May 7) reserved, but need to reserve the return leg... Saturday, May 24. I just realized this is Memorial Day weekend here in the states, so I want to reserve the rest of my award ticket as soon as the tickets open up. Can anyone tell me if that is midnight eastern time, midnight pacific time, midnight central time, etc?

Many many thanks

Pretty sure it's midnight Central.

Hi Gardyloo,
Thank you.
I guess I'll be headed back to the office at 11pm Denver-time since the home computer chose this week to go on the fritz.

AA has loaded the flights into the global distribution systems but not yet on to their website. If you're traveling in economy, at the moment AA is showing 7 award seats available FRA-DFW on 5/24, and 6 seats on FRA-ORD, with plenty available to DEN from either airport. You might phone AA and see if they can circumvent the web booking engine, which can be fluky, and hold the return seats until you can confirm the mileage award request later.

If I may jump in, how many days in advance can you book with AA miles?

Gardyloo Jun 29th, 2007 02:04 PM

330 minus a second or ten.

The 330 days applies to reservations made using live agents -- I've found that web booking on aa.com is always a couple of days behind. Today you can book up through 5/25 by calling AA.

Doesn't AA charge a fee for booking award tickets via the phone? For some reason, I am recalling a $100 fee but I can't find it anywhere online so perhaps that isn't the case. Thanks for the heads up!

TexasAggie

I paid $15 per ticket to book by phone this last trip (April 2007). I don't know if this has changed.

Thanks,
I guess I will call and see!
