Question on recovering from jet lag

We got back late Wednesday and I feel like I am still jet-lagged! So does my husband. Does anyone else ever take this long to recover from jet lag?

I returned from 4 weeks in Europe a week ago and I'm still going to sleep at 9:30 or 10 pm and waking up 5 or 5:30 am! I'm getting enough sleep, I'm just not bacl on local time yet. I'm fortunate that I'm retired and don't have to work... still, it's a nuisance.

I heard from a retired Navy friend that in WWII, they used to have their men stay out in the sun as much as possible to avoid jet lag. I suggest you try to sit out in the sun (or maybe a tanning booth???). It might help!

Depends on where you got back from and where you are now. How many hours time difference? Conventional wisdom says a day for each hour of difference.

Personally I find jet lag harder coming home because you have to get back on your schedule, probably go to work, etc. When you go on vacation you have more options for taking a nap if you're tired etc.

Also, for some people going east is more difficult, while for others going west is worse. My jet lag nightmare is coming from Asia back to California, 10-14 hours difference.

We returned late Wednesday too, and we are still dragging. It is the waking up at 5am that is doing us in.
