Question for Thalys Experts

Nearly three months ago I purchased two Smily's fares for my companion and me to travel roundtrip from Amsterdam to Paris. Thanks to all the helpful advice on this forum, I was able to complete the transaction and print the tickets at home. Unfortunately, I put in the wrong birthdate for my travel companion, listing the wrong birth year. Will this invalidate his tickets? If so, is there anything I can do to get them corrected when we arrive in Amsterdam or will we need to purchase a new (full fare) ticket?

If anyone has an answer or can direct me to someone who might know, I would very much appreciate it. We leave for Europe this weekend.

Hi TM,

> I put in the wrong birthdate for my travel companion, ....

As long as the name is correct, no problem. Unless you the age was under 25 and the traveler is older.

((I))

Ira,

Thank you. That is a HUGE relief!

I don't recall my Brussels-CDG Thalys ticket (Smilys ABS fare) having any name or birth year on my ticket.

Something changed?

rkkwan,

I purchased the Smilys tickets from the SNCF website and they clearly show the name and birthdate (example: Ne(e) le 12.12.1952). Since I have never purchased Thalys tickets before, nor printed them off, I have no idea whether this is what they should look like.

All the wording is in French, a language in which I am not especially fluent. I suppose it might make sense to double check things at Centraal Station when we arrive in Amsterdam, as we certainly don't want any unpleasant surprises when we go to use them.
