I've always been interested in the Murphys as well. What a life! I have the book titled "Sara & Gerald" written by their daughter Honoria Murphy Donnelly, published in 1982. We actually sat on the beach at La Garoupe in Antibes but couldn't find their house.

Sara Murphy was my father's first cousin. On a trip next week to the Cannes area, my wife and I hope to find Villa America, or at least where it once was. Nobody seems to know its precise location, though. Any suggestions?

according to the books I have:
Near Antibes, on the slope above Golfe Juan, between two tracks called the Chemin de Mougins and the Chemin de Nielles, original name of property was Chalet de Nielles. Other than Antibes, I don't know if those place names are still current.

Their daughter Honoria Donnelly might be alive still, or her children?
