Question about Ristoro di Lamole

Have heard this is a great restaurant. When we are there in late September, we would have no view at dinner ~ do we go for lunch and the view, or expanded menu at dinner with no view?

I'm curious as well and while I have yet to visit, I'm hoping to work it into a lunch during a day of touring. We ate at Cantinetta di Rignana one late fall night and found the food to be fabulous without the view and then the drive back to Greve in the pitch dark--not for the faint of heart. I'm assuming a similar remoteness at Lamole and I really like the ambiance of a terrace so its a view and pranzo for us as we have even further to drive after the meal.
I'm betting there's good food on both lunch and dinner menus. Buon Appetito!

Hi macanimals, I'm beginning to think lunch. Ristoro di Lamole is about 40 minutes from where we're staying, that's a long drive in the dark!

We went for dinner and had the view before it got dark, but it was a bit of a hair raising drive back down that windy road in the pitch black.

I would say go for lunch. There was a couple at our hotel who had lunch there, a long leisurely one and they could not stop raving about it. They said it was the best lunch they'd ever had.

Having to drive the winding road down the hill after enjoying some wine would discourage me from having dinner there. Lunch sounds better.

We've eaten at this restaurant twice...lunch both times and it was wonderful. I wouldn't want to drive that road back in the dark......

Thanks all, just sent an email for a lunch reservation!

Just one more vote for lunch. We had dinner there in September a couple of years ago and had the view for the beginning of the meal but it was dark when we left. Hair-raising is a good description of the drive down the hill in the dark. The meal was great but I'm sure the lunch would be equally wonderful. If they have it, try the pear ravioli.

I have already asked if the Pear Ravioli is on the lunch menu, as I had a similar dish in Rome which I LOVED, and want to learn how to make. Filippo has been WONDERFUL in answering my many questions, I'm already impressed.

Wonderful restaurant, we ate dinner there twice. They also offer complimentary limoncello which adds a little more to your system. We stayed in Lamole and and I am so glad we didn't have a long drive. You have made the right choice in having lunch there. Be sure to visit the old church across the street. I loved seeing this question as it evoked wonderful memories.
