Question about LYONS LA FORET and HONFLEUR in France

Hello Fodor-ites,

Can anyone tell me more about these two cities? We will be driving in early June from Paris.

Also, do you know of any picturesque towns similar to Honfleur (driveable from Paris), which are not as touristy?

Thank you!

Senlis is about one hour north of Paris, exceptionally charming and much less visited than Honfleur. It's a great walking town.

P.S. Especially interested in hearing about the town of LYONS LA FORET, for those who have been.

THANKS!

Lyons la foret is absolutely a gorgeous town, lovely architecture and a beautiful covered market. But it is small and not much action. It is certainly worth a visit but I wouldn't suggest staying there unless you wish to have a very quiet base. Honfleur on the other hand is very pretty but also very touristed and can be crowded.

Thanks, Robyn! We liked the idea of Honfleur because it is by the water. (After several days of Paris, we'll probably want a more rustic escape.)

Any suggestions??

Stop in Trouville for lunch at Les Vapuers for the best creme moules and friendly atmosphere.
