question about england

First time to England and I want to try and develop an accent. Where should I go to pick up the "Cockney slang"?

Since you have no command of the English language itself (it is "try to develop" not "try and develop") I doubt that you will be able to master an accent of that language.

Just take lessons from Dick van Dyke in "Mary Poppins".

You could try the The Dialectizer http://rinkworks.com/dialect/

I tried putting in the text of previous posts to this thread through the dialectizer - and apart from one not much happend,

"Since yer 'ave no command of the bloomin' English 'am sandwich itself (it is "try ter develop" not "try and develop") I doubt that yer will be able ter master an accent of that 'am sandwich"

Contact Madonna and ask her about her English accent. Maybe she can point you in the right direction.
