To correct someone's msg. above, Canada is NOT the largest country in the world, Russia is. Canada is the 2nd largest country in the world. Furthermore, I would like to add that Canada isn't nearly as careful as to the 'immigrants they let in' as are the Americans. That is why we have lots of immigrants from Somalia, India and wherever else bringing in all of their troubles. And because we are not allowed to ask them if they have, for example, aids, those that do are entitles to our free health care system and us taxpayers have to pay for this. They are also granted immediate school loans to go to University, while as a Cdn. citizen has to prove that their parents don't make enough money combined before they are granted a school loan. The government also gives landed immigrants 550$/month, if you are single, and low-income housing, which is actually nicer than the housing that middle-class workers can pay for. Thank God for the law they passed stating that every new immigrant that comes in has to have $10,000 in the bank, per person, before they enter. I have nothing against other nations, I really am open to all ... but when you walk into a Health Canada office to have your health card renewed, but you can't get it renewed because you don't have TWO picture ID's, or a whole bunch of other stuff necessary, and both of your parents have been representatives of Foreign Affairs for the past 30 years abroad, and you have a 'foreigner' who can't speak English or French, who HAS her health card, it makes you wonder ... who are we paying our taxes for? As for the Queen, what does she do for Canada now? Diddly squat, and paying taxes to the Governor General is not in the favor of most. Those taxes should instead be going to our health care system so that they stop closing hospitals and so that young boys who are having asthma attacks (i.e. two years ago in Toronto) don't get turned away due to lack of hospital beds and then die. Canada is NOT going to be the super-power of the future, unless we rely on the large sources of water we have.

Does the Queen pay taxes in Canada or in England? I would like her to pay taxes in Canada ...
