Quad rooms in Bath?
 

My family of 4 is considering a 3 day side trip to Bath in early June. Does anyone know of an inexpensive, nice hotel or Bed and Breakfast that has quad rooms?<BR><BR>I tried to find an apartment, but I was unable to find one for a three day rental.<BR><BR>Thanks for your help! Laurie

We had a family room at the Sydney Gardens Hotel, which is actually a nice 6-room B&amp;B on the outskirts of the city, right on Sydney Gardens. Just a few minutes' walk into town. <BR><BR>The room had an ensuite bath and 3 beds, at least 2 of which were double size or larger. Pleasant atmosphere, free parking and huge English brakfast (with granola, yogurt and grapefruit on the sideboard for health nuts).

We had a quad room at the Dorian House which is a 5 diamond B&amp;B in Bath. The quad room is on the top floor so the ceiling is sloped. Bathroom was nice. The room had one double and 2 twin beds along with tea making facilities in the room. <BR><BR>The owner is a cellist with the London Symphony and his wife runs the place. The breakfasts were incredibly good. <BR><BR>The B&amp;B is an uphill 10 minute walk from the town (but is downhill walk to get into the town). We really liked this B&amp;B a lot. Very nice and was reasonably priced. We stayed there for 4 nights and did day trips to Cardiff and Salisbury/Stonehenge. We walked everywhere but did take a taxi from the train station to the Dorian House when we arrived. We walked to the train station when we left because it was downhill and our suitcases would roll. <BR>

Also, the Dorian House has a website and I made all the arrangements via e-mail to them. The room in June 2001 was 105 pounds per night which included the breakfasts for all 4 of us.

We stayed at Burghope Manor, which is outside Bath...we LOVED it; arranged to extend our stay an extra night. At the time, it was the 2 of us and our kids were ages 7 and 9; we had a quad room. Excursions into Bath were easy. The hostess even went to the trouble of preparing waffles for my kids the second morning when it was obvious they weren't going to eat the English breakfast.

Hi Laurie,<BR><BR>I was there 2 weeks ago and stayed at the Brompton House. It is a 5-minute, flat walk (no hill!) to city center on a nice quiet street. We had a family room for 3 but I believe they also have rooms for 4. Nice big breakfasts, too. We were very pleased. One thing I wanted to mention about the walk to and from the Dorian House -- We would stop in awe on our walks up and down the hill because the view of Bath and the surrounding hills was so incredibly beautiful. We're glad we had that walk each day because we wouldn't have enjoyed the views if we had stayed right in town. Bath is a beautiful town and you should really enjoy it.
