Q re: Laterooms.com
We are going to London next Friday, and I just found the same suite we are staying in at The Chelsea Green for 110 GBP. My price (which I thought was pretty good for a 4 * suite) is 150 GBP. Should I simply make a reservation through laterooms, and then cancel my other, or email the hotel and ask them to honor the rate? I thought they may not take that too well. TIA

I would call the hotel and see what they say -I think that they should honour it - otherwise book on line and then cancel the other reservation.

I was just thinking that if I called them, and made them honor the other rate, they might give me the worst suite they have. Whereas, to simply book the other rate, then cancel the first, they may not notice.

If they are a 4* hotel they should not act unpfrofessional as that. However, you never know. If I were you, I would also cancel the original reservation with the hotel and book with laterooms.com. However, you should be aware of any cancellation penalty or other "fine print" when booking with an agency. Sometimes the lower rates they offer have a catch such as prepaying.

I agree with xxx - they should honour it as a 4* hotel. I don't think that they will give you the worst suite. With Laterooms I don't think you pay up front. I would still call (or mail the hotel)

You cannot book a hotel through Laterooms online. They instruct you to call the hotel direct. Explain to the hotel that you have seen better rates available on the Lateroom website and they will almost always give you the new rate.

And if they don't match the lower rate, then cancel.
