PUP IN ITALY

When last heard about the Pup was in Italy( although it also has a cousin in Paris who is going out for the night wearing black).

Can someone please update what the Pup is currently doing?
Did it go to mass?
What was it wearing?
Does it still have the washcloth from France?
What about its four digit access ATM cards? Are the white sneakers with the motto "I'm With Stupid" still the favourite toy?

Still Worried
The Pup sends his love from Rome.He sent postcards from the Spanish Steps,he likes sitting there looking at the pretty little Italian dogs.
He has discovered gelato-although it does upset his tummy.
The Pope is in Canada so PUP is avoiding the crowds at the Vatican.
He does like hanging around the fountains though.
While in Venice this spring, we spotted hundreds of pups who looked like they'd love to strike up a friendship with an American pup.

Any plans on vistiting Venice?

Pup's mom Jul 29th, 2002 01:45 PM

Pup was a bit of an embarrassment. Though we tried our best, we just couldn't cram any Italian into his fuzzy little head before the trip. We had a hard enough time teaching him to read English, and his spelling recognition even in his native alanguage is absulutely appalling. so you can imagine how embarrassed we all were when we strolled past the Doge palace, and Pup, thinking we'd fainally chicked the little dog house and bought him a veritable PALACE, became inordiantely excited, yapping with joy, rolling on his back, then jumping up, doing back flips and forward flips, and rolling on hos back some more. So humiliating. And to make matters worse there were so many people around of so many diverse nationalities, and just know they are going to go home and ridicule American canine manners. Never again will we take him anywhere without attending to his linguistic education diloigently before the trip. So so sorry.

Worried Jul 30th, 2002 05:40 AM

Thank God I found The Pup at thread 139. For a moment I was concerned that some drunk Vespa rider really did do him in!

Worried Jul 30th, 2002 10:27 AM

Pup nearly got away but found again at thread #120. What's with this in-week crowd?
Danger now of course is that the Fodor Animal Shelter police will notice, catch Pup and put him down. He may be put down but for me it will forever be that Great Thread in the Sky.

Where to Jul 30th, 2002 10:43 AM

Where does Pup go after Italy? His adventures make for great reading.

Worried Jul 30th, 2002 11:03 AM

Where does Pup go after Italy depends a lot on what's current and silly or turning silly on the threads.
I try to keep Pup up-to-date on the latest Europe threads and then the dog attaches itself and goes along until readers and posters get tired or bored.

One of my chosen tasks in life is to worry about Pup and try to make sure that he/she/it/them does not fall too far below #50.
Be our guest and help Pup stay alive and vibrant. Add a chapter to the ether adventure.
Pup wants to go to Scotland.
Can pups wear a kilt? Will it have to be a certain plaid? Does he have to find his families tartan?
Do Poodles have tartans?
Will Pup get to meet Sheila?
Pup is sure he will like Haggis~

x Jul 30th, 2002 01:05 PM

Bon voyage, PUP, travel safe, write when you can, and be sweet to the world. It's your bichon!

traveller Jul 30th, 2002 01:10 PM

OMG, Pup will have to learn to play bagpipe before he goes to Scotland! And Pup's mommy will have to find out if yes or no Pup has to wear underwear under his kilt!

elvira Jul 30th, 2002 01:20 PM

Dear Pup, do sample the Haggis in a Tube TM and let us know what you think.

As for your clan, I'd check into the Clan McKibble as a starting place.

Be sure someone takes a picture of you doing your thing against Hadrian's Wall.

Say "woof" to Sheila for us; don't bite Tony's ankle, eventhough you'll be sorely tempted.

Worried Jul 30th, 2002 01:48 PM

Dear PUP:
I see that some strangers are taking you to visit Scotland. Why they would insist on going there is a mystery. In any event, I suggest that you watch out for the ATM machines at the airport.
A special treat for visiting pups will be chasing the kittiwakes and puffins in the ... ambrosial air.
While you are in the area check out the Isle of Islay. They make a strange tasting beverage there that is not good for pups of any age. Some of it has a kind of burnt taste that you should avoid. The smoked salmon is great though.
I don't think that you need to watch for Vespas.
As soon as the Pope gets back from SA I suggest that you head back to Italy. The folks are a lot more style conscious there. Moreover, real pups don't wear skirts.
