As far as Ireland, I'd suggest the Connemara area. I enjoyed staying in the town of Clifden. I stayed at a wonderful B&B called Mallmore House. The rates are extremely reasonable and the hosts are genuinely nice. If you go to Clifden, you must visit Kylemore Abbey which is a short drive. Killarney is also beautiful albeit touristy. The Killarney National Forest is a must-see particularly Ladies View. Wicklow County is also beautiful. I liked visiting Glendalough. As far as the UK, my favorite part of the country is Cornwall. If you'd like more help, e-mail me. I'd be glad to help anyway I can.
