Pudlo anyone? (English version now available)
I just picked up a Pudlo Paris, supposedly available in English for the first time, a 2007-8 edition. I partly bought it because it was new to me. Thought it would be an interesting switch from the titles I know. Also interested in the references to food and cookware shops, something Zagat's (while more portable) does not offer.
Anyone use this book and care to comment? Very few references here on the board... |
Probably because that is the first edition printed in English... there was some mention of it last year, either here or on the TA forum...

French foodies are upset because now Americans will know all of their favorite unknown restaurants too. Pudlo is considered one of the French authorities on the Paris dining scene.

I've used Pudlo with success for a number of years; the other one I use is Lebey - I compare their reviews -- along with Time Out (which is in English, of course). I don't know if Lebey is in English but am happy to hear that Pudlo is and that you've discovered it.
Bon appetit! Jess |
I have stumbled through M. Pudlowski's reviews in French for a long time and find him to be very reliable as far as restaurants go; you can also look for the Pudlo stickers on the restaurants themselves. I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about the translation for the reason mentioned above.
