Pubs in Dublin

we will be spending 5 days in Dublin this December and I am looking for some recommendations for pubs to visit which are friendly but not on the high deciball level for noise! While we love the camaraderie, we also enjoy being able to hear what each other is saying.

Thanks again for your help...and any suggestions for a restaurant that is a favorite for dinner would be welcome also. Casual is fine, just looking for good food with fresh vegetables.

It is really decibel, if you would like to know how to spell that word

Really - a pubs noise level mostly depends on who is there at the time and if there is a major sporting event on the telly. (Not talking about live music venues).

A major football match - you won't hear a thing. Competing Hen and Stag parties - not a prayer ;)

Other times most any pub will be comfortable. So peek in -- if there's too much noise - just go down the block to the next one.

The Bank on College Green is normally a quieter group. The Duke on Duke off of Grafton is not loud. The Church has so many levels you will find a spot. It is worth a stop just to see it. Mary St and Jervis. The Ginger Man is good also.

Don't even talk during a game, follow the lead of the locals.
