public transportation Italy/France, expertise needed!

This seems to be getting complicated but I could really use some help...2 college students, we will be in Europe for 3 weeks (Paris, Venice, San Gimignano, Sorrento, & Rome) and trying to figure out our public transportation...These are my unsure spots...

Please correct me if I have the wrong stations, routes, etc. Since the SITA bus and some other websites have no English option I would also appreciate any pricing info you have to offer. Budget is of a concern so usually taxis/more expensive traveling is not an option. TIA!!

1. getting from Latin Quarter area to Orly Airport for a 19:00 flight on My Air to Venice??

2. Venice (staying on Grand Canal) to San Gimignano (staying in the middle of the town)
*ES train Venice St. Lucia 12:32- Firenze SM Novella 15:21
*bus Firenze SM Novella to San Gimi (SITA bus??)

3. San Gimi (town center) to Sorrento (hotel near the port?)
*SITA bus San Gimi to Firenze SM Novella?
* ES train Firenze SM Novella 12:53-Napoli Centrale 16:30
*boat or Circumvesuviana? I read that you have to pay for a taxi to get from Napoli Centrale to the port...is this a better idea for us than the train since our hotel is near the port? Or should we take the train instead that I think leaves from Napoli Centrale?

4. Sorrento (port hotel)-Rome (hotel near Spanish Steps)
Marozzi bus leaving from Piazza Tasso to Rome Tibertina, takes 4 hours, arrives in Rome around 9 pm...I read that this is often easier and more convenient than train to Naples and then train to Rome, is this true? Is Piazza Tasso convenient to the port in Sorrento and is Rome Tibertina anywhere near the Spanish Steps to get to our hotel that evening? Or would we be better off taking an earlier train through Naples to arrive somewhere closer to the Spanish Steps closer to 5 or 6 pm?

Naples to Sorrento, I would take the circumvesuviana as it is easier with luggage.
Sorrento to Rome, I would take the circumvesuviana back to Naples and the ES to Rome.
Obviously, your choice depends on timetables. I took the train from Rome to Naples and the Circumvesuviana to Pompeii (which is the same train as the one to Sorrento). The train from ? to Rome departs from the same station, just a different floor.
Good luck,
Carolena

Your number 1 question: You can take the métro or a city bus to Denfert-Rochereau and the Orlybus from there. The bus leaves every 15-20 minutes, takes about 30 minutes to get to the airport, and costs about 8 €. You can check your options at http://www.ratp.info/orienter/aeropo...hp?partenaire=
You have planned a nice trip. Bon voyage. Boots

Two routes from the Latin Quarter to Orly:
1. Take the RER C to the Pont de Rungis-Aeroport d'Orly station and the Aeroports de Paris shuttle bus from there to the airport. Time: approximately 50 minutes. Cost: E5.65.
2. Take the RER B to the Antony station and the Orlyval shuttle train from there to the airport. Time: approximately 35 minutes. Cost: E9.05.

Visit www.ratp.fr to download and print a metro/RER map. The site is viewable in English.
