Public transportation from Venice to Opatija and Bled
 

I am thinking of touring Croatia and Slovenia, starting in Opatija and ending in Bled. I would be flying into and out of Venice. What is the best way to get from Venice to these two cities? Is the drive scenic, or is it a waste of many hours on a bus without the benefit of scenery? How long is the drive from Bled to Venice? I do not want to rent a car.

Get a train from Venice to Trieste and bus to Opatija. Return by train from Rijeka to Ljubljana and bus to Bled. Then bus to Ljubljana and train to Venice.
