Public Transportation Catania airport to Siracusa (Ortiga)

DH and I land at Catania airport at about 3:30 in the afternoon on April 19th. We are to meet our tour group at the hotel in Siracusa later that day. The tour group owner can
arrange for a taxi driver to meet us at the airport and drive us to our hotel on Ortiga
for a rate of 65 Euros (plus tip I guess). Has anyone taken a public bus from Catania airport to Siracusa? I seem to remember that there is one but I can't find the info.
If anyone on this forum has any information about a bus, please let me know. We travel lightly so the bags might not be as much of a problem for us as for other travelers. However, if busses between the two cities are usually standing room only that might be a problem. I don't think there is a train on this route.

Thanks for any info that you have.

The bus company, Interbus, has regular service from the Catania airport to Syracuse. As I recall, the buses all stopped at a little island in the street between the main terminal and the parking lot with the rental cars.

Here is more information about Interbus - frequency of trips and cost: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/italy/si...ing-there-away

Official airport websites usually list transport options for an area.
