public transport to Hampstead Court to/from London

I'm spending a few days in central London in June and am keen to visit Hampstead Court Palace. What are the best public transport options for a day trip?

It's called Hampton Court Palace and you can reach it easily from Waterloo Station and get off at Hampton Court station. Takes around 40 minutes. Cross the bridge once out of the station and you can see the palace in front of you.

Hi Denise,

another option is to get the boat there and the train back, or vice versa. Here's the link to the boats:

The boat takes quite a long time, so taking it both ways would probably take too long.

REco taking the train to and the boat back - if the schedules work. That way you can enjoy the views along the rivers and rest - after a long visit on your feet (esp the maze).

If the weather is fine definitely consider a boat back from the palace to central London. Do not take a boat upriver TO the palace. Takes much too long and you wouldn't arrive til lunchtime or later.

If the weather is too cool/blustery/wet take the train back. It is a long boat ride so not fun in nasty weather.

Or you can take a bit of a river trip to Richmond and take the train back to Waterloo from there.
