Public transport in Rome
Is anyone familiar with buses from P Novana going south past P Venezia towards Piramide station and to the conference area of Fiera di Roma. Is it too hot and tedious at 9am in June to do this. How bad is the traffic? I think bus #30 was recommended but any first hand comments would be great.

My husband and I walked to the Piramides from Trastavere but I wouldn't suggest that to you. It took a long time! If you are worried about the buses being too crowded, why don't you take a taxi to your destination? Traffic is bad in Rome any time of day so I don't think that really figures in to what you're asking. And it will mostly likely be hot at 9 am, but certainly not as hot as it will be in the afternoon.

Yes, angel88,
30-Exp (130Exp on Sundays) is the route you need.
It has limited stops. If Fiera di Roma area is your destination, you may get off at the stop facing the Regional Council("Regione Lazio").
It runs every 6/15 minutes and could take about 20 minutes to cover the part of route you are interested in.

Thanks LeCanard - is 30 Exp an express type service. My husband will be in a suit and have a briefcase - will the bus be too much hassle for him? Mon-Fri only. He could catch a taxi - but will this be much better in traffic? In which case, would we be better off staying closer to the metro? The real choice is do we stay at the Canali ai Coronari and use bus 30 or taxi or do we stay at Hotel Traiano on IV Novembre and walk to Metro. Would prefer Canali due to venue and good reports and mixed reports on Traiano. We found the metro in Madrid fantastic & like to use public transport if convenient but I just don't know Rome. Any thoughts?
