Public transit from Chiuisi to Praiano

Leaving from Chiuisi and heading to Praiano. What is the best way to get there? I was thinking of training it down to Naples, then catching a ferry to Sorrento, then the sita bus to Praiano. Is it better to get the ferry to Amalfi?

You wouldn't want to catch a ferry to Sorrento which would require getting from the train station in Naples to the port.

It might be easier to train from Chiusi to Salerno (requires a change of trains in Rome, but so does training to Naples). In Salerno you could catch a Sita bus or a ferry. What time of year are you going?

You have several choices, but these are among the most likely:

1. Train to Salerno; connect to SITA bus to Amalfi; connect to SITA bus to Praiano.

2. Train to Salerno; connect to small ferry boat to Amalfi; connect to SITA bus to Praiano.

3. Train to Naples; connect to Circumvesuviana commuter train to Sorrento; connect to SITA bus to Praiano.

Thanks everyone. I'm heading down next Wednesday. I have decided to take the train to Salerno and connect to a SITA bus.

At the newstand inside the Salerno station, you will need to buy an UNICO COSTIERA 24-hr. ticket for 6 Euros, which will get you to Praiano on the SITA buses. If you plan no more travel once you arrive at your hotel, you can save 1 Euro by buying one 90-min ticket for 3 Euros (Salerno/Amalfi), and one 45-min ticket for 2 Euros (Amalfi/Praiano). Punch the ticket once on the bus. The 24-hr ticket needs to be punched only the first time it's used. Sit on the left side of the bus (facing the driver) for the best views.

Forgot to mention: if you plan on using the SITA buses for several days, you can buy a 3-day UNICO CAMPANIA ticket at the Salerno Station for 15 Euros.
