Pub in Brighton
 

My family & I will be in Brighton for one night in January and would like to stay in a cheep pub. As long as it is clean thats all we need for one night.

Generally, pubs in the UK don't offer overnight accommodation. You should look for a guesthouse or a B&B (bed and breakfast, one or more rooms in a private house) for the most economical accommodation (apart from youth hostels, which is another alternative). Some pubs will be listed as offering B&B, if you are very keen to stay in a pub. Try the Brighton tourist office for a start. http://tourism.brighton.co.uk/

Reading over my post, I should say that B&B can mean rooms in a private house, but also covers hotels and guesthouses where breakfast (usually a full cooked breakfast) is included in the price of the stay. Note that unlike in the US, prices are often quoted per person per night, rather than per room, so check this before you book. At least taxes are included in the price!

Jo, if you do find rooms at a pub, make sure it's not on the weekend. I once stayed at a pub that also functioned as a B&B, and didn't even think about the fact that it was Saturday night and I was exhausted from traveling. Our room was above the disco, and so we were up until the disco shut down (late licensing hours, unfortunately).
