Provence/Riviera Oct trip weather/clothing

Need advice on what type of clothing is needed for our early October trip through Provence. What could the weather be like at that time of year?

I have been from east of Nice to St. Remy that time of the year and found it to be beautiful.

I will be in Lanquedoc/Rousillon, Dordogne and Basque country this year at that time. I always watch the weather as time gets closer. You can always get a 10 day forecast before leaving to give you an idea of what to expect. Not 100% as it is any place with weather.
Enjoy...............

Think layers! The weather should be quite pleasant; I hope so, because that's when we'll be there too. I'm taking knit pants and one pair of the light-weight rayon kind, assorted tops, and shirts to wear over them. One sweater for evening or chilly days and a quilted carcoat just in case.

Don't forget a folding umbrella.

My clothes will be about the same as Underhill. I always take a Talbot rain coat that folds and zips into the hood for a small thing to pack..always a black cashmere cardigan. I add jeans to the list..always good for daily wear and a jacket of some sort in the car to put on for presentable attire!
Enjoy........

Don't want to bogart this thread, but thought i could ask for what would be appropriate for Sept 13-27...I would like to bring bermuda shorts capris and a few pants..of course with a light jacket...how does this sound. I checked the general weather stats, but you never know! ;-)

You will probably be fine. I would check the forecast for the area before you leave. That should give you a pretty good idea of what it will be and would show anything unusual.

There are many weather sites. I seem to like the Yahoo weather site. You can get the extended weather for the different places where you will be. I have 4 areas where I will be and I am beginning to follow them now....
