Provence Weather

Can any Provence traveler let me know what the weather is like in mid August? I am trying to pack the least amount of clothing I can get away with. Thanks to all.

It is likely to be hot enough that you won't need to pack any clothing at all ;;)

Cute, guess you don't have an answer then.

Visit weather.com and look at the historical data. Provence can be quite hot in the summer as it was last year. Pack for the averages for August on weather.com and you should be fine. In fact, Provence is probably as hot as Nawlins in the summer, but not as humid.

August is usually hot, but it's mostly dry, thank goodness. Nights can still be on the cool side; so think something light for the day with a sweater or shawl for a woman (very chic), if needed, in the evening.

Here's a great site for European weather information:

http://www.eurometeo.com/english/home

If you register (free) you can get archived hour-by-hour weather data for many cities for the past two years. Could be useful to get an idea of what the weather might be like at any time of year.

Nawlins.....NOTHING is as hot & humid as Nawlins in August. I feel your pain!

As for Provence, it varies by how far up you are and the time of day. It can be 85 to 90 at lunchtime and you'll wish you had a windbreaker at night. Closer to the sea, nighttime breezes are milder but it still pays to have a sweater or light jacket.
