Provence Villa Rental Companies

Can anyone recommend a few Villa Rental Companies that are reputable and have nice properties at a reasonable price.

We are only a couple - no children - so need a company that has smallish apartment/self-catering places rather than large villas.

We're specifically interested in the Luberon area.

Here is a list that includes some villas:

http://www.avignon-et-provence.com/navigation/gb/hebergement/bb.htm

http://www.luberon-news.com/lbba.donut

http://www.fleurs-soleil.tm.fr/france.htm

http://www.bbfrance.com/Med.html

http://www.gites-de-france.fr/eng/index.htm

http://www.cheznous.com/properties2001/index.asp

http://www.logis-de-france.fr/us/index.htm

http://www.bbchannel.com/search/area.aspx?NodeID=241

http://www.europeanhomerentals.com/france/index.htm

I have had personal experience with the following:
www.coquelicot.com (rented two houses from them in October 2000. They specialize in the Luberon area. Houses are good value for money, IMO.)

http://www.provence-luberon.net/ (Just returned from a trip to the Luberon area and rented a small village house using this site. Doesn't give as many pictures or as much info as previous site and is available only in French - if you need help with translation, let me know.)
If you would like to e-mail me, use above address, but substitute "charter.net" for "home.com" Bonne chance!

Debbie- You can also go to:

www.villasandvoyages.com and look up the apts that they have to offer--

Do NOT email them after you have decided-= CALL them on the phone and they WILL call you back--

Each and every property has been seen by David-the man you will talk to ....

Thumbs up recommendations for www.francevillas.com (two good experiences), and indirectly, www.housesforhire.com - - based on a high opinion of Susan Mellups (it's her company).

Best wishes,

Rex
Thank you to all for the info!

Has anyone had personal experience with holiday-rentals.com?

They seem to have a great selection and their prices are amazingly resonable compared to some of the other sites I have looked at.

A company called Country Cottages has about 10,000 villa listings in various European countries. They are presently offering some rather fantastic villa vacations, including air fare from the U.S. east coast and 6-7 nights, for around $1,000 per person. Yes, that's right, if you can believe it. I think the air portion is with British Airways in most cases. It's worth checking out; their web site is www.villacentral.com. No, I don't have any association with the company; it just looks like a very good deal.
