PROVENCE VILLA: Please help to avert total meltdown!!

Hi there,

My hubbie and I are hoping to go to Provence in early September and we would like the freedom of staying in villa for a complete relaxation. We realise that they are usually for larger parties and we are willing to pay a little extra involved in a 3 or 4 bed property! Just not too much.. budget is around 1200 euros for a week.
Hear are our ideals:

We would really like to have a private pool and a garden possibly with a view.
We would love to be within walking distance of a village with a couple of restaurants.
We like the Luberon area and particularly like the Lourmarin area but we would be flexible in this.
We would like comfortable furnishings and tasteful decor. bright and airy would be great but is not a necessity as that is not typically provencal.

Sadly enough we would like there to be satellite TV as we never get to watch any TV in our normal life and so would like the option to may be veg out in front of the TV one evening!

Basically, we are both burnt out and would like a little bit of luxury.
We are only going for one week either begining 6th or 13th September. This is probably a tall order but it's worth a try. Anyone with any recommendations, I would be really grateful.
Thanks in advance. I really hope someone will be able to help me find my dream!!

Thanks a million

Cailin

Did you check www.VRBO.com (vacation rental by owner) or www.homeaway.com?

We,ve rented through VRBO with great success.

We have spent many Septembers in Provence and enjoyed every one of them. This Sept. it's Paris again.
Good Luck!

I agree- search the websites mentioned or have a look at the reviews on slowtrav.com.

Enjoy your trip!

Or try www.gite.com, which has a list of special offers and last minute deals,

In addition they have a section called 'Looking for accommodation,' where you can list your requirements. This is sent to most home-owners on the site, who can then contact you directly if they have something that matches your needs. It is made very clear to owners that they should only contact if their property is what you are searching fr.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I had tried some of those websites and was just getting a little overwhelmed with so much information and choice. I will keep looking on the ones that I hadn't checked and hopefully I will find what i am looking for. Thanks so much for your help.

Hi.

Check out www.theluberon.com as there may be a rental there to suit your requirements.

Good luck.
