1. Entertainment and shopping complex in London (Piccadilly Circus/Shaftesbury Ave)
2. London's Covent Gardens (road junction)
3. Florence (the 'other side of Arno')
4. Disused railway line in Paris
5. Park in Paris
6. Paris, end of metro line 4 and site of famous flea market
(La Porte, and no second g)
7. Former name of star-shaped junction in Paris where the Arc de Triomphe stands. Now called Place Charles de Gaulle. Several other place names associated with Étoile.
8. Mountain peak in the Bernese Oberland, famous for the north wall, a challenge for experienced mountaineers.
9. In the Englischer Garten in Munich, next to the Chinese pagoda modelled on one in London's Kew Gardens.
10. In South London, Sydenham, at Crystal Palace Park. The glass and steel building erected for the great exhibition of 1851, moved there from the original site in Hyde Park and burned down in 1935.

Smart alec! Thanks for that tidbit on Kew Gardens original Chinese Pagoda.

I have a special interest in Crystal Palace - the old ruin and the modern park - having camping in Caravan Harbour there for many a week a few decades ago - right under one of the BBC transmission towers.

Alec of course got them all correct!
