Provence or Nice?

I would like to know which place to visit after Paris, Provence or Nice? I am looking for a nice beach to sunbath/swim, culture, good food, friendly people. Going in late May. Is weather sunbathable?

Thanks, Emma

emma28
That's a tough choice regarding eating- a no lose situation.
Nice beach in Nice-probably not what you would consider nice comparing with Florida, etc.
I would probably opt for a Mas in Provence with a heated pool.

I agree with Gino. Nice and Provence are two different animals but if you are coming from Paris, I would head for Provence.

I would go to Provence. Lovely. But, if you want beach and subbathing and decide on Nice, I'd recommend day trips to the little towns nearby. Such as Villefranche Sur Mer (for the Beach) and Eze for the view, Monaco for a night out.

Nice is okay, but a bit too touristy in my opinion.

Either way, you'll have a great trip!

Emma,

Definately my choice would be beautiful, magical Provence.
Having been in Provence in May, the days were very sunny, but still on the cool side.
You may want to head to Cassis for some sunbathing on the beach.

Enjoy. Francie
