Provence or Burgundy (only 2 1/2 days)

Hello!
We are staying in Paris for a week and wanted to take a 2 to 3 day trip somewhere around France. We really love the idea of Provence, but weren't sure if 2 1/2 days would be enough to tour this region. We then decided just to drive to Burgundy. I can't say I'm as excited about Burgundy, but maybe I'm shouldn't be. In everyones experience what should I do? Should I take the less expensive Burgundy route or go all out an definitely do Provence in 2 and a half days?

Hi Flax,

I think that you would find 2.5 days in the Dijon and Beaune ara quite pleasant.

For a place to stay in Dijon, check out

I agree with Ira. Take a TGV to Dijon. You don't need a car there. Depend on your budget, I highly rec. the apartment of the above web site given to you by Ira. You can take a train to Beaune. Click on Indytravel screen name and read his report. Save Provence when you have at least a week dedicated just to that area and Côte d'Azur.
Bon voyage.

Thank you very much for your responses. You answered exactly what I wanted to know. I feel better going back to France and touring Provence and the coast with alot more time.

Merci...
