Provence on a Sunday

We will be in Provence, staying in St Remy, for several nights in September. Our last day will be on a Sunday. I remember reading that many of the villages and towns are practically closed down storewise on Sundays. Any suggestions on where to go or plan an itinerary for that day. We will have a car. Thank you.

Sunday is a perfect day to visit L'isle Sur-La-Sorge
with it's many antique shops and huge flea markets.
Have lunch at the Jardin de quai* by the railroad station.

* Hope I spelled that correctly

L'Isle sur la Sorgue in the morning - before it gets crowded at 10:30. Get there at 8:30. Shops are open in Gordes, Roussillon, and St Remy on Sundays.

No major tourist site/town is going to be entirely closed up on Sunday, not at all. St Remy is one of the most touristy towns in that area, don't worry about it. So is Gordes. Roussillon somewhat lesser, but of course it has the ochre, and you really don't go there to go shopping, anyway.

Thank you for your replies. I can see that I will definitely find things to do.

My wife has done a lot of shopping in St Remy & Gordes. So have our friends. Christina - I know you are not a shopper - but lot of other people are - especially "first timers". Lots of villages & cities look dreadful when shops are closed & louvered shutters and large steel bars are pulled across the pretty storefronts so that you can't see in. In some cities, these louvered shutters are covered with graffiti - not a pretty sight.

I "believe" she meant you don't go to Roussillon to go shopping, Stu.
